13 Minutes Beauty & Health: sexy, sultry, smoky eyesWe can't help but stare at the girl whoever so naturally wears the perfect smoky eyes. Admit it! It's almost annoying how her eyes seem to sparkle behind a veil of subtle shimmer, oozing sultry sexiness.

You may fret that you're not the “type” that can pull it off. You're wrong! Anyone can wear the smoky eye. It's universally gorgeous…when done right, that is. There are just a few key things you need to know before harnessing your own smoky eye Jedi mind tricks. Take notes, dolls…

This step-by-step article features Duwop products, which are designed to create the devastatingly beautiful smoky eye. They even have an eye palette series designed specifically for the smoky eye enthusiast, the “smoke” line. Genius!

They come in 4 different shades at $28 a piece. We feature 3 different smoky eye looks here. Black gold, Plum Wine and Navy Seal.

13 Minutes Beauty & Health: sexy, sultry, smoky eyes step 1
Step 1
: Start with a fresh palette. Glowing skin greatly complements a smoky eye!

Step 2
: Use the cream liner and apply on the lid like a super thick eyeliner and smudge upwards. Smudge into lashes like mascara if needed (recommended for double-lid surgery recipients) This step can be quick and messy; it doesn’t need to be precise.

Step 3: Apply the shadow from the base of your lid (at the lashline) in a windshield wiper motion in the shape shown above, and blend outwards beyond the line to avoid harsh lines. Apply several coats for more intensity and drama.

Step 4
: Smudge a little cream liner to the bottom outer rim and blend out with eyeshadow halfway into the eye, tapering it closer to the lash as you go in. A flat brush allows more control.

Step 5
: Curl lashes, tip to root for longer curl, then apply mascara. Again, start on the tips and work toward the root of lash for greatest volume and definition. Line the bottom inner eyelid with black or brown liner.

Step 6
(Optional but fun!): Buy a pair of fake eyelashes. If you’re not a seasoned fake-lash-applier, if you’re in a time crunch, or you just want a more subtle look, snip them in half! Use the longer end for the outer corner of eye.

Step 7
: When applying the lashes, place them slightly past your natural lash line. This creates the illusion of bigger eyes, and creates a softer line. Blend in with mascara if you want.

Step 8
: Dab Duwop Doubleglow7 on the upper half of your cheekbone towards your hairline. This will tie in the glow that will emanate from your smoky eyes. You can also use just a touch of this along your nose bridge to give the illusion of a higher, straighter bridge.

Step 9
: Apply a light pink or apricot blush, like Duwop Blushbooster in mango or watermelon. Start along your cheekbone and smile, contouring the apples of your cheeks. Again, sweep in a U-shape windshield wiping motion.

Step 10: Top off the look with a gorgeously light, color-tinted, shimmery gloss like Duwop’s Duet in fauna to go with your smoky eyes.

Ladies, just remember. You can always control the intensity of the “smoky eye” by using variables. Use plums and browns for warmer looks or for a twist on the conventional smoky eye. Line the inner bottom rim with lighter tones like brown and plum for a more natural look and black for more drama. Add lashes for more dramatic smoky eyes and blend out the shadow line past your usual daytime wear zone for effect. Have fun!
